The Diamonds and Denim Gala features local art and artists, a silent auction and food and drink from local vendors. Come dressed in your best for a night out with the community. Tickets are $45 in advance, or 50 at the door. Buy tickets online or at the ICL Service Desk. The Repair Cafe has a new day to keep volunteers, library staff, and participants safe. The cafe will now be the first Saturday of the month from one to four in keeping with the library's winter hours. The Repair Cafe offers an alternative to throwing broken items away by providing a space, materials, and experts to repair items from bikes to electronics to clothing. Mark your calendars for the next Repair Cafe Saturday, February 3rd. Winter is here, which means snowy roads and possible school closures. Ignacio School District works with local agencies to determine whether or not schools need to be closed. In the mornings, after a heavy snowfall or particularly bad winter weather conditions, Ignacio School District will make the call to delay or cancel school by 5:30 AM. In the event of a snow day or delay, notifications will be sent out via a simultaneous phone call, text message, and email to staff, students and family. Info will also be posted to social media and shared with local TV and radio stations. Parents and guardians are encouraged to make sure that contact information is correct and up to date in Infinite Campus. In the event that the school district exceeds the number of allotted snow days, instructional time will be made up on designated Fridays to avoid going into the summer. Nomination packets for the April 24 municipal elections are now available at Town Hall for those interested in running for a town board seat. Packets are due by 5:00 PM on the 22nd to be considered. Town Hall will be open from eight to nine and from four to five for election purposes only. Regular hours remain 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
