The City of Durango wants to help with spring cleaning. Earth Day celebrations are approaching and restaurant week returns to Durango. You're watching the "Local News Network" brought to you by Crystal Mart and Happy Pappy's Pizza and Wings. I'm Sadie Smith. Citywide spring cleaning takes place throughout the month of April. City crews will sweep through residential neighborhoods to pick up old furniture, large appliances, scrap materials, tree trimmings, and more. Check the City of Durango website to see accepted materials and when city crews are scheduled to collect from your neighborhood. Durango's Earth Day parade and celebration is Saturday, April 12th. You can acknowledge Earth Day with a parade, food vendors, live music, and more. The parade starts at 10:30 AM followed by music and entertainment at Buckley Park from 11 to 3:00 PM. You are encouraged to come dressed as your favorite species, plant, animal, or fungi. While the main celebration will be held the 12th, events will take place throughout the month of April.
