THANKS FOR WATCHING THE LOCAL NEWSNETWORK. I'M WENDY GRAHAM SETTLE TODAY. I'M JOINED IN THE STUDIO BY ASPECIAL GUEST, THE SPECIAL EVENTS COORDINATOR OF THE WOMEN'S RESOURCECENTER, KELLY DiGIACOMO. WELCOME. THANKS WENDY. I APPRECIATE YOUHAVING ME. IT'S SO GREAT TO HAVE YOU HERE BECAUSE WE'RE TALKING ABOUTMARCH, WHICH IS WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH. AND THIS YEAR IS A VERYSPECIAL WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH BECAUSE IT MARKS THE 100TH ANNIVERSARYOF THE 19TH AMENDMENT, WHICH GAVE WOMEN THE RIGHT TO VOTE ,AND THEWOMEN'S RESOURCE CENTER IS DOING THEIR PART TO MAKE IT A SPECIALWOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH.

IT IS, YES. SO WE TRADITIONALLYCELEBRATE WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH IN THE MONTH OF MARCH. THE HUNDRETHCELEBRATION IS JUST AN INCREDIBLE FEAT FOR US AND SUCH A, AN AMAZINGREMINDER ABOUT THE WOMEN'S RIGHTS TO VOTE.

AWESOME. IT'S SOGREAT TO HAVE YOU GUYS HERE IN OUR COMMUNITY MAKING SURE THAT ANEVENT LIKE THIS THAT'S REALLY EPIC DOES NOT GO, YOU KNOW,UNCELEBRATED. ABSOLUTELY. SO TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT WHAT ARE THEDIFFERENT ASPECTS OF WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH THAT WE SHOULD ALL BEAWARE OF? TO KNOW ABOUT?

WELL FIRST OF ALL, YOU KNOW, WECOULDN'T DO THIS WITHOUT THE LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS AND THE AMERICANASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITY WOMEN. THEY ARE SPEARHEADED BY TIFFANYPARKER, AND CONGRATULATIONS TO TIFFANY. SHE IS OUR COUNTY CLERK ANDSHE JUST REALLY PAVED THE WAY IN OUR COMMUNITY,  FOR VOTING INGENERAL, ESPECIALLY WITH WOMEN'S RIGHTS. SO I'M, I'VE BEEN VERYFORTUNATE TO GET TO KNOW SOME OF THESE LADIES THAT HAVE BEEN AROUNDFOR A LONG TIME AND WE ARE FEELING HONORED TO HAVE THEM REACHRECIPROCATE, YOU KNOW, JUST THEIR, THEIR OFFERING OF HELPING USCELEBRATE THESE EVENTS.

GREAT. SO WHAT KIND OF THINGS AREGOING ON?

SO, WE ARE STARTING OUT, WHICH WE HAVE THE LAST TWOYEARS, SO THIS'LL BE OUR THIRD ANNUAL CHOCOLATE AND WINE EVENT ATANIMAS CHOCOLATE COMPANY. YES, ALPINE BANK IS OUR SPONSOR OF THISEVENT. AND THEY'VE DONE A BEAUTIFUL JOB OF SETTING THE STAGE. BETHDRUM OVER AT ALPINE BANK HAS BROUGHT US ALSO THE COLORADO WOMEN'SHALL OF FAME AND ACTUALLY TIFFANY, TO SPEAK OF HER AGAIN. SHE IS THEWINNER THIS YEAR OF THE MORLEY BALLANTINE HONOR. AND SO WE DIDCELEBRATE MORLEY LAST YEAR. THIS YEAR WE'RE DOING A HUNDRED, AHUNDRED YEARS OF THE 19TH AMENDMENT, SO WE WILL HAVE AN EVENING OFCHOCOLATE AND WINE. IT'S AN ACTUAL PAIRING THIS YEAR. YEP. ANIMASCHOCOLATE GOT THEIR LIQUOR LICENSE. SO WE HAVE SOME SPECIAL WINES ANDTRUFFLES PICKED OUT. SOUNDS DECADENT. IT IS, IT'S GOING TO BEDECADENT. HOWEVER, WE'RE GOING TO, YOU KNOW, MAKE SURE THAT PEOPLEARE AWARE OF, OF WHY WE'RE THERE.

TIFFANY PARKER WILL BETHERE REGISTERING FOLKS TO VOTE. I KNOW THAT WE'RE GOING TO HAVE ALOT OF GUESTS FROM THE LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS AND THE AAUW PRESENT.AND THOSE WOMEN ARE POWERFUL. THEY, THEY REALLY SYMBOLIZE, YOU KNOW, MAKING OF OUR RIGHTS. SO AT BEAUTIFUL EVENING, IT'S GOING TO BE FROM5 TO 7:30 P.M. ON THURSDAY, MARCH 5TH. WE ALSO PARTNER UP EVERY YEARWITH, THE PROFESSIONAL WOMEN'S NETWORK, AND THEY DO KIND OF ACELEBRATIVE STORY NETWORKING MEETING WITH URBAN MARKET. SO WE'LL BETHERE ON TUESDAY, MARCH 10TH. IT'S AGAIN, IT'S A CELEBRATION. I, I'MREALLY PUSHING THE CONCEPT OF CELEBRATING, YES. THIS YEAR. WE WILLSTILL, OF COURSE DO THE EXTRAORDINARY WOMEN'S AWARD DINNER AND WE'LLBE UNVEILING OUR WINNER HERE SOON. SO THE DINNER WILL TAKE PLACE ATTHE DOUBLETREE ON MARCH 25TH. IT'S A WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND THAT, WECAN'T DO THAT WITHOUT VECTOR BANK.

THEY'RE SUCH A GREATSUPPORTER, BUT THIS EVENT, WENDY IS SOMETHING REALLY EXCITING. SO INTHE PAST WE'VE DONE A SEATED PLATED DINNER, AND WE'VE HAD A LOT OFFOLKS SPEAK AND I WANTED TO DO A FULL BLOWN ROARING '20s PARTY. SO WEARE ENCOURAGING OUR GUESTS TO DRESS IN COSTUME. I, OF COURSE, ALREADYHAVE MINE.

AND DURANGO TIME TO DRESS UP.

I KNOW THIS IS NOT A HARD-ASK TOWN. ITRELISHES THE OPPORTUNITY TO GO INTO THEIR COSTUME BOX AND PULLSOMETHING OUT. SO WE'RE GOING TO MAKE IT JUST A LITTLE BIT MORELIVELY. HOPEFULLY SOME LIVE MUSIC AND A PARTY, A PARTY COMPARED TO A,YOU KNOW, SOMETHING THAT'S BEEN A LITTLE BIT MORE CONSERVATIVE IN THEPAST. YEAH, GET WILD. YEAH, EXACTLY. WHAT FEATHERS AND BOAS AND OFCOURSE MEN CAN SHOW UP IN THEIR GANGSTER-WEAR, SO YEAH, THAT'LL BEGOOD. AND THEN, THE LAST EVENT THAT WE'RE DOING IS A NEW EVENT. SO WEHAVE PARTNERED WITH A LOCAL WOMAN, BUSINESS OWNER IN TOWN. HER NAMEIS HANNAH. SHE OWNS THE CONUNDRUM ESCAPE ROOM. AND SO WE ARE GOING TODO A REALLY FUN GIRL'S NIGHT OUT CONCEPT THERE WITH SOME FUN BUBBLYDRINKS. WE'VE GOT A PHOTO BOOTH. AGAIN, IT'S A CELEBRATION AND WE'RE,AND WE'RE TAKING THE TIME TO HONOR SOME OF THE OTHER LOCAL WOMEN,WOMEN IN OUR COMMUNITY AS WELL.

IT'S AMAZING HOW MANY EVENTSYOU HAVE. HUGE. FIVE HUGE EVENTS GOING ON IN MARCH. SO I LOVE THATBECAUSE IT REALLY, YOU'RE SHOWING THAT THIS 100TH ANNIVERSARY OFWOMEN'S RIGHT TO VOTE, THE 19TH AMENDING PASSING IS NOT SOMETHING TOOVERLOOK, RIGHT? SO WE'RE REALLY MAKING A BIG DEAL ABOUT IT, AND ITHINK SO MANY WOMEN WHO WERE BORN, YOU KNOW, OBVIOUSLY, AFTER ALL OFTHAT, YOU KNOW, ALL OF THAT WAS PASSED. WE WERE BORN IN TO HAVE THATRIGHT TO VOTE. BUT IT'S REALLY AMAZING TO LOOK BACK AT THE WOMEN, THESUFFRAGETTES WHO MADE THAT HAPPEN. SO WHAT AN AWESOME CELEBRATION TOLOOK BACK ON OUR HISTORY AND THINK, MAN, ONLY A HUNDRED YEARS. IT'SREALLY NOT THAT LONG AGO.

SOMETHING I WANTED TO MENTION INTERMS OF AWARENESS. SO THE LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS AND THE AAUW FOUNDA LOCAL ARTIST IN TOWN. SHE'S A YOUNG GAL WHO ACTUALLY CREATED ASPECIAL ICON TO REPRESENT THE SUFFRAGE AND THE 19TH AMENDMENT. SOWHAT I'VE BEEN DOING IS GOING OUT TO LOCAL BUSINESSES IN DURANGO ANDASKING IF THEY HAVE A CREATIVE IDEA OF HOW THEY COULD POSSIBLY GIVEBACK. FOR INSTANCE, APRIL'S GARDEN IS GIVING US 15% OF ALL OF HERPROCEEDS THE MONTH OF MARCH. AND WHAT WE'RE ASKING IN RETURN IS THATSHE DISPLAY THIS AMAZING ICON. IT'S A STICKER SO THAT AS YOU AREWALKING AROUND TOWN AND NORTH MAIN IN DURANGO, THE MONTH OF MARCH,YOU WILL START TO SEE THE STICKER OVER AND OVER, AND WE'RE HOPING ITWILL RAISE AWARENESS, AND ULTIMATELY DRIVE PEOPLE BACK TO THE WOMEN'SRESOURCE CENTER, SO THAT WE CAN CONTINUE OFFERING RESOURCES ANDREFERRALS AND THE PROGRAMS THAT WE PROVIDE. THAT'S RIGHT. COOL.ANYTHING ELSE WE SHOULD KNOW? I DON'T THINK SO, BUT I APPRECIATE YOUTAKING THE TIME TO LET ME COME ON BOARD TODAY.

YEAH, WE'REREALLY GLAD TO HAVE YOU. YOU'RE A WONDERFUL RESOURCE IN OUR COMMUNITYAND WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT PEOPLE KNOW YOU'RE THERE.  AND THE,THE, THE VARIETY OF THINGS THAT YOU SUPPORT WOMEN ON IN THISCOMMUNITY IS, AND GIRLS. AND GIRLS, GIRLS, GIRLS, AND WOMEN IN THISCOMMUNITY IS, IT'S REALLY EXCEPTIONAL. THANK, AND WE'RE LUCKY TO HAVETHAT IN A SMALL TOWN LIKE THIS. ABSOLUTELY. SO THANK YOU SO MUCH FORCOMING IN TODAY AND WE'LL SEE YOU OUT AT WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH, ALLAROUND TOWN. GREAT. THANK YOU. APPRECIATE IT.
