The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has opened applications for the second round of funding for the Clean Fleet and Technology Grant Program. The program offers funding for low and zero-emission fleet vehicles. A fleet vehicle is any automobile that is or was owned by a business. The goal of the project is to replace high emission-emitting vehicles with ones that can help protect air quality and reduce greenhouse gasses. The application is open to businesses, local governments, and non-profit organizations through June 21st. Kick off the summer at Purgatory Mountain Resort with the opening day for the summer season on Saturday, June 15th. The celebration includes a chili cook-off, live music, drinks, and more. Daily hours for Purgatory are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for summer activities and mountain biking. New this summer, the Sunset Shred Series starting in July extends lift-assisted mountain bike access until 7:00 p.m. every Friday. Tickets for the summer activities and mountain biking are on sale now. The Colorado Department of Transportation has announced that the opening of the Grandview Bridge will be postponed until the middle of June. Lighting at the Grandview Roundabout needs to be completed before the connection can commence, and the contractor was called away to assist areas in Houston that were impacted by recent storms. The new opening date will be announced once the work has been completed. Learn more about these and other stories online at durangolocal.news.
