Applications will be open until January 8th with meetings to begin after the group has been formed. Historically, the city has taken a reactionary approach to stormwater management, but with an estimated $44 million of stormwater infrastructure to be replaced, the city wants to hear from residents regarding organizing dedicated funding for stormwater infrastructure. A dedicated funding source will include creating a proactive stormwater maintenance program. Aging and failing infrastructure leads to flooding in places like roads and parking lots and draws pollution into the Animus River. The city's storm water system comprises 55 miles of pipe and 2,392 storm drainage inlets in addition to natural drainage channels.
