OWNER AND STYLIST KENDRA LISE SAYS THE NAME SANCT STEMS FROM THE ROOT WORD OF "SANCTUARY," AND THAT’S JUST WHAT SHE WANTS HER SALON TO BE – A SANCTUARY.

SOUNDBITE: “it started way back in beauty school. We had to do a project where we basically created our own salon. And parts of my vision were to create a space that felt like a break. Some salons can be really loud and busy and blow dryers and people in and out, and I lean toward the quieter side of life. So I just wanted to create a space where people felt like their hair appointment was relaxed.”

THROUGHOUT HER 15 YEARS IN THE INDUSTRY, LISE SOUGHT  THE CLEANEST PRODUCTS SHE COULD FIND. TRADITIONAL HAIR PRODUCTS OFTEN CONTAIN CHEMICALS THAT CAN TRIGGER REACTIONS IN PEOPLE WITH SENSITIVITIES. SANCT SALON  USES LOW-TOX PRODUCTS  LIKE AMMONIA FREE HAIR DYES TO REDUCE ADVERSE REACTIONS.

THE SALON’S HOLISTIC APPROACH INCLUDES MORE THAN USING CLEAN PRODUCTS OR PROVIDING A REJUVENATING SPACE TO RELAX. IT ALSO INCORPORATES THE TENETS OF A SUSTAINABLE PROGRAM CALLED GREEN CIRCLE SALONS  WHICH ALLOWS SALONS TO OFFSET THEIR CARBON EMISSIONS AND TO RECOVER UP TO 95% OF THEIR BEAUTY WASTE.
