Durango will trade its winter blues for board games and clues. Snowdown 2025 has arrived, and this week is jam-packed full of events. You're watching the Local News Network, brought to you by Dunkin' Donuts and San Juan Regional Medical Center. I'm Sadie Smith. This year's Snowdown marks its 46th anniversary with the theme, "It's your Move: The Board Game Edition." Snowdown will light up Durango from Friday, January 24th, through Sunday, February 2nd. The search for the Silver Bullet is officially on. Hidden somewhere in La Plata County, the Coors Light Silver Bullet holds the key to $250 and a cornucopia of prizes. Want to join the chase? Tune in daily to Radio 101.3 and KRSJ 100.5 for clues that could lead you to the grand discovery. Friday, January 31st, is a date you won't want to miss. At 6:00 PM, the Snowdown Light Parade, hosted by Purgatory Resort, will light up Downtown Durango. Significant street and parking closures will be along the parade route, so arrive early and plan accordingly. Volunteers are still needed to ensure a safe and successful parade. If you plan to attend some of Snowdown's signature events, act fast. Tickets for the Snowdown Follies, Fashion Do's and Don'ts, and the Outlaw Josie Pete's Golf Tournament are already sold out. However, you can still catch a live video recording of the Snowdown Follies and a video recording of Fashion Do's and Don'ts at the Animas Theater. Blue Star Moms Honor Fallen Veterans with Flag Display

The Iron Horse Bicycle Classic is this Saturday, May 25th. The Colorado Department of Transportation would like to remind drivers that US Highway 550 will be closed to vehicles between Purgatory Ski Resort and Silverton during the event. The second annual Healing Field, put on by the Blue Star Moms of Durango, will be on display for Memorial Weekend at Santa Rita Park in honor of fallen veterans. The Boggy Draw trail system is open to the public again after conducting a prescribed fire across over one thousand acres to mitigate future fire risks. The Durango Chamber of Commerce is asking for volunteers this Friday, May 24th, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. to help with its 21st annual Downtown Clean Day. By Rachel Hughes. Free Summer Transit Returns

Durango Transit and the City of Durango will once again offer free transit on all fixed routes and free parking along select streets in an effort to reduce traffic congestion and encourage public transit use. At a recent visit to the Southern Ute Indian Tribal Council, Senator Michael Bennet and Bureau of Reclamation Commissioner Touton announced $2.3 million in funding for the Pine River Indian Irrigation Project.
