Merely Players is back with another play, and registration for the 2025 Dave Spencer Ski Classic is officially open. Join the community for a day full of live music, original performances, featured artists showcases, and artisan pop-up markets across town. The ArtRoom Collective will host Deb Rodgers of Deb Rodgers Pottery as this month's Featured Artist. Learn how to craft a Valentine's Day ring dish during a workshop that starts at 5:30 p.m. in the ArtRoom Collective at The Smiley Building. get step-by-step guidance on shaping a small dish from a clay slab, molding it and decorating it with underglazes. Singer-songwriter Brett Dennen will return to Durango to perform for his eighth annual Lift concert at the Animas City Theatre on February 13th and 14th. The Lift Series is Dennen's annual performance tour at his favorite ski towns. Local singer-songwriter Julianne Marqua will join Dennen both nights. Tickets are on sale, but space is limited, so purchase tickets while they're available. Tickets are limited to those 21 and older and can be purchased on Dennen's website or the Animas City Theatre website. Doors open at 7:00 p.m., and the performances start at 8:00. Merely Players is back with another hit theater show. "Swing State" by Rebecca Gilman is described as an unforgettable, contemporary drama in which a rural Wisconsin woman and a family friend with a troubled past struggle to rebuild trust and find hope after a life-altering incident. The play is set to hit the stage with several shows premiering between February 7th and 16th. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at merelyplayers.org. Registration for the 2025 Dave Spencer Ski Classic is officially open. The event kicks off Friday, February 21st, with a party at the Adaptive Sports Association's summer warehouse in Bodo. Join the celebration at 463 Turner Drive, Suite 105 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Racing Day begins at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday the 22nd at Purgatory Resort. An award ceremony will be from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 23rd at the DoubleTree Inn in Durango. Participants are encouraged to form teams, wear creative costumes, and engage in friendly competition on a modified slalom course at Purgatory. The fundraising event ensures that Adaptive Sports has the resources necessary to provide life-changing outdoor experiences for children and adults with disabilities. Funds will be used to purchase adaptive equipment, provide specialized training for volunteers, and support scholarships to ensure accessibility for all participants.
